Summarize Anything (Chrome extension)

Last updated: May 11, 2026

This policy describes how the Summarize Anything browser extension (“Extension”) handles information when you use it. By using the Extension, you agree to this policy.

What the Extension does

The Extension lets you summarize the active webpage and ask questions about its content using AI models via OpenRouter. It may show a prompt so you can allow access to the current website when you choose to summarize or chat about that page.

Data we process

Third parties

When you use Summarize or Ask, the Extension sends your prompts and relevant page text to OpenRouter’s servers to generate a response. OpenRouter’s handling of data is governed by their terms and policies. We do not control OpenRouter’s infrastructure.

What we do not do

Permissions

The Extension requests permissions needed to read the active page (with your consent where the browser requires it), open the side panel, store settings, and contact OpenRouter. A full list appears in the Chrome Web Store listing and in the extension manifest.

Children

The Extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
